The Final Outfit

When I introduced this link up idea to Meagan I had no idea what I was getting myself into. "If I could only wear one outfit for the rest of my life, what would it be and why." Seemed easy enough to me at the time. Seemed fun enough to me at the time too. And then I sat here for the past two weeks procrastinating this very post because I have absolutely NO idea what I would choose to wear if I could only wear one thing for the rest of all eternity.

It's like that execution question where they ask inmates what their last meals would be. How would one ever choose what to eat for the very last time? I seriously freak out just thinking about it. Would I choose a full on three-course shrimp cocktail / filet / molten chocolate cake meal? Or would I just choose a burrito bowl from Chipotle because I'm that obsessed and it has made me more happy over the course of my lifetime than any other meal has no matter what the occasion. I honestly have no idea. It's probably the sole reason I choose to follow the law 95% of the time. I kid, I kid. In all serious though, how does one lock down answers to such important questions in life like these?!

And then I remembered that this is just a link up on on a blog that one teeny tiny minuscule percent of the population reads and I realized it's not really one of life's more important questions. And then I got over my procrastination. So instead of sitting here trying to determine if I'd want to go cozy and wear a pair of ripped denim with a cozy tee and an H&M zip or go glam and wear my all-time favorite red carpet look I'm just going to go against the grain and say I'd wear a damn tutu. Yes, a tutu.

And when I say a tutu, I mean on a full on "you can see my hiney peeking out from the bottom of this thing" tutu. I like to keep it classy around these parts friends. That's just how I roll. Or pirouette or whatever.

I'm not sure what exactly it is about tutus that I'm so drawn to but whatever it is I'm entirely obsessed. You probably could've figured that out just by reading my blog intro over there to the right hand side though couldn't you? Maybe it's the fact that I completely missed out on everything to do with ballet when I was younger because I was absolutely terrified when the dance teacher forced my mother to leave the room when it was time to dance and now I'm attempting to relive it. Or maybe it's the fact that they're just the most girly and fun pieces of clothing you could ever throw on your body. Or maybe it's simply because tutus are reserved for costumes and themed outfits and there isn't a thing in the world that I love more than dressing up for holidays.

Take for instance St. Patrick's Day: Nothing completes a holiday outfit like a big ass bow and suspenders

Or a couple of my outfits from past Halloweens: Fifty Shades of Grey (those are fifty different grey paint chips pinned to me) and Mickey Mouse (those are blacks pumps spray painted yellow):

Or the last two SantaCon outfits:

See that red tutu? That's the one I'm talking about. It has served me very well these past few years. I like to imagine myself pairing it with any outfit that could possibly require the color red. Valentine's Day, Fourth of July, Memorial Day. Hell, I'd probably throw it on with my Giants jersey for game day every damn Sunday if I wouldn't be judged for the rest of my life. Then again I'd probably be judged in any outfit that let my honey buns hang out for the world to see. But in all honesty, if you've never stuck a tutu on your bod and run down the streets of New York kicking your heels together then I highly suggest doing it. Add in several stops at sports bars along the way and you'll be having the best damn time of your life. And that's a straight fact my friends. Just ask my hangover from the following day. Oh, and try to leave out that whole hailing a cab to get home the next morning while still in your tutu thing because that's never a good idea. My friend gave me that advice though, it's not like I have personal experience or anything.

And speaking of dressing up for holidays, thank goodness it's about time I started figuring out how to incorporate a tutu into this year's Halloween costume. Anybody have any creative ideas for me?

What would YOU wear if you could only wear one outfit for the rest of your life? Be sure to write up a little post about it and link up with me and Meagan!
