Oh Monday, we meet again...
It really confuses me how easy it is to wake up at 8am on the weekend but as soon as it rolls around on a Monday morning I feel as if I could sleep the entire day away.
It's just not fair that the ratio of weekdays to weekend days is so skewed.
I HATE YOU MONDAY
Alright the rant is over...my weekend was fantabulous!
I woke up bright and early Saturday morning to get all fanciful for the Belmont Stakes. It was my first race ever and I had SO much fun.
I'm pretty sure that 95% of the reason I loved it was because I got to dress up. But that's totally fine, right?
If it was normal to wear a big floppy hat every day you can hands down bet I'd be doing it.
I took a thirty minute train from Penn Station out to Long Island with thousands of other floppy hat wearing ladies.
The girl next to me on the train whipped out an iced coffee. I whipped out a water bottle filled with Crystal Light powder and two nips of vodka.
I suddenly felt fifty times less classy than I looked
And I wouldn't have it any other way.
I'm not sure if everyone is just obsessed with coral as much as I am but I couldn't even tell you how many times I was complimented on this dress.
I mean I totally fell in love with it when I saw it too but even the train conductor told me it was the prettiest one he'd seen all day.
On Sunday I fine-a-lyyyy went to Frying Pan. For those of you that have been following along since the beginning you will understand why this is so exciting.
For those of you who haven't (shame on you) (I'm just kidding) it's a big boat docked on the west side of Manhattan that serves food and alcohol.
The boat doesn't move or do anything exciting. What's exciting is having Sunday Fundays out on the water with lots of friends drinking ridiculously overpriced drinks.
For instance: the $37 pitcher of Sangria.
Don't get me wrong it's freakin' delicious and this is NYC but holy nut balls that's just ludicrous.
Kara, Talia and yours truly on the dock. Hooray for neon shorts!
It was beautiful out later that night and I had plenty of time to kill so I went for another hour long stroll home through Manhattan.
I stumbled across this little beauty that I always fall in love with when I see it.
My weekend concluded with a little Real Housewives of New Jersey, of course. The wedding was beautiful but I thought the episode was a bit of a snooze fest. It looks like the storm rumbles in next week though and I am PUMPED.
Not as pumped as I am for Emily going West Virginia hood rat on the baggage guy tonight on The Bachelorette, though. That girl has stolen my heart with her sassy attitude.
Happy Monday to you all!
You're the only reason I enjoy coming back to real life after the weekend.
